«The role of media in countering terrorism»
The XVI International conference The role of media in countering terrorism will take place in Russia, Moscow, October 26 – 27, 2020.
The conference is organized by the International academy of television and radio (IATR) and supported by the Russian federal agency on press and mass communications.
The conference is expected to be attended by well known Russian journalists and experts, media professionals, representatives of electronic mass media, special services of many countries. The aim of the conference is to discuss the most hot topics and issues related to the problem of countering international terrorism through electronic media.
In 2020, the conference will consider important topics:
- Changing direction of journalism in the anti-terrorist struggle
- New challenges: why modern journalists react so late?
- New old danger: far right and far left activities worldwide
- Professional journalism today: is investigative journalism still important?
- Cyber threats and information challenges for modern society
- Fighting terrorism in a high tech environment: what methods of countering terrorism are inspiring and what are alarming?
The conference will be opened by Leonid Mlechin, IATR Chairman of the board, journalist of the Russian Public Television, and Ilya Lazarev, deputy Chairman of the Russian agency on press and mass communications.
The conference will be attended by journalists and experts from Belgium, Belarus, Greece, Israel, Spain, Italy, Cyprus and other countries. The conference will be supplemented by screenings.
