The course focuses on the dynamics of international interactions in political and economic spheres, highlighting the development of mutual relations and interdependence between countries. It aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern economic diplomacy, covering both theory and practice.
The program explores traditional economic diplomacy, state sovereignty in international economic relations, globalization, competition for foreign direct investment, and the influence of international economic standard-setting organizations.
Designed for practitioners and students, the course emphasizes collective reasoning and individual attention through engaging learning exercises led by experienced academics and diplomats. The primary goal is to understand the complexity of the changing world economy and analyze current problems, developments, and challenges in economic diplomacy.
CURRICULUM
The course is structured to provide a progressive learning experience, starting with foundational concepts and gradually advancing to complex topics and practical applications. Each module builds on the previous one, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive understanding of economic diplomacy. The modules include lectures, case studies, practical exercises, and assessments to ensure a thorough grasp of the material and its real-world application.
The comprehensive course outline ensures that participants gain a thorough understanding of economic diplomacy, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the global arena. This course links modern economic diplomacy with other areas such as political and public relations, featuring engaging exercises led by experienced academics and diplomats. Participants will:

KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Designed for African nationals and those with interests in Africa, this unique course—unmatched in price and quality—provides unparalleled insights into the regional and generational dynamics of Africa’s economy. Non-African participants will gain a deeper understanding of Africa, while African participants will connect with both developed and developing nations especially with like-minded professionals and future leaders in the field of economic diplomacy from around the world. Current applicants are from different geographic regions of the world.
The course is structured into 8 consecutive weekends (Saturdays), each of which focuses on crucial areas of economic diplomacy. Aside accomplished academics from 5 continents who will be teaching on the programme, the course also includes weekly hour-long sessions with distinguished diplomats, featuring:
- Prime ministers, presidents, and government ministers from Norway, Belgium, Finland, Slovenia, Croatia, and Indonesia, among others.
- The UN Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Special Advisors to Kofi Annan, Ban Ki-moon, and António Guterres.
- Leaders from the OSCE, the EU, the Club de Madrid, and Liberal International.
