Commander-in-chief of the Russian aerospace forces told when the creation of a satellite constellation of the Unified space system will be completed

As early as 2022, Russia will begin the third stage of creating a satellite constellation of the Unified space system, and by 2024, the orbital constellation of spacecrafts should be fully deployed. This was told to journalists by the commander-in-chief of the Russian aerospace forces, Colonel-General Sergei Surovikin.
He specified that in 2022 “it is planned to ensure the beginning of the deployment of a promising Unified satellite communication system of the third stage,” and from next year- “the deployment of a high-orbit space reconnaissance system of the orbital constellation.”
The Colonel-General stressed that the completion of the Unified space system will allow the Russian military to ensure global control of the entire surface of the earth, as well as to increase the “survivability of the combat control system under conditions of jamming.” He said this in an interview with the newspaper of the Ministry of defense “Red Star».
In addition, the Commander-in-chief of the aerospace forces said that in the interests of the Russian Aerospace forces, “a unified command and measurement system “Topaz” is being created, which will allow controlling spacecrafts in all types of orbits.”

This was stated in an interview with the official publication of the Ministry of defense “Red star” by the commander-in-chief of the Russian aerospace forces, Sergei Surovikin. He clarified that the technical characteristics of the S-500 allow us to refer the anti-aircraft missile system to the first generation of anti-space defense systems.
“The S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system is being developed by Almaz-Antey Concern as a new generation of anti-aircraft missile systems, which will apply the principle of separate solutions for the destruction of ballistic and aerodynamic targets.
The main task of the complex is to destroy intermediate-range ballistic missiles, and if necessary, combat blocks of Intercontinental ballistic missiles at the end of their flight trajectory.
In addition, the S-500 complex is capable of destroying hypersonic aerial vehicles, aircrafts and unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to its tactical and technical characteristics, the S-500 can be refered to the first generation of anti-space defense systems, since in the future it will be able to destroy low-orbit satellites and space weapons.
The characteristics of the S-500 anti-aircraft missile system allow it to destroy, in addition to aerodynamic and ballistic targets, hypersonic weapons of all modifications, including in near space. It may confidently be said that there are no analogues of this system,” Sergei Surovikin stressed.
